Chrome Coupon Finder is a Chrome extension built by CyberGuard that helps users discover and apply working coupon codes during online checkout. It is lightweight, secure, and fully browser-based.

1. How It Works

Chrome Coupon Finder crowdsources and retrieves publicly submitted coupon codes. Users manually trigger coupon application when on supported checkout pages. No background tracking occurs, and all logic executes in-browser.

2. What Data We Collect

We do not collect or track:

Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
Browsing history or non-checkout URLs
Usage behavior or analytics

The only data stored includes:

Non-personal coupon codes submitted voluntarily
Local settings and consent using chrome.storage.sync

3. Permissions Used

storage – for saving your preferences and consent
activeTab – to apply coupons to the currently open checkout tab
scripting – for inserting coupon logic into checkout pages

4. Security & Data Handling

All coupon logic is processed locally. No external servers, trackers, or ad libraries are used. Data written via the extension is never shared or transmitted outside the browser.

5. Use of GitHub Gist (Third-Party)

The extension may fetch coupon code lists from a public GitHub Gist. This is a read-only action and no personal data is ever sent to GitHub. GitHub’s privacy policy governs access to its services.

6. Liability Disclaimer

This software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for:

Invalid or expired coupon codes
Missed savings or checkout failures
User-submitted inaccuracies or misuse
Browser or site updates that break functionality

7. Retention and Deletion

No persistent user data is stored outside the browser. You may delete your extension data anytime by removing the extension or clearing its local storage through Chrome settings.

You are fully in control. You may:

Review and clear local data stored by the extension
Decline to submit coupon codes or use GitHub-powered features

This extension is not designed for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
